Through our flagship initiative, the Malibu Farmers Market, we foster community engagement by uniting local farmers, artisans, and residents, thereby facilitating access to nutritious, farm-fresh produce while bolstering the local economy. Moreover, our unwavering commitment to animal welfare is evidenced by our "Paws Up" events, which endeavor to rehome rescued animals, providing them with a second chance at life in loving environments. We support and enhance local agriculture through the Malibu Farmers Market, which serves as the town's square, bringing together local farmers, artisans, and community members. Additionally, we aim to assist local artists, entertainers, and poets, further enriching our community's cultural and social fabric.

Paws for a Cause

"Paws for a Cause" stands as a prominent animal rescue initiative aimed at addressing the plight of abandoned and neglected animals within our community. Central to its mission are biweekly rescue events, supplemented by an annual flagship event and 10-15 additional rescue endeavors throughout the year. Each rescue event yields a notable average of 5-7 adoptions, serving as a vital platform for connecting rescued animals with caring individuals and families. Beyond facilitating adoptions, these events offer invaluable exposure to participating rescue organizations, amplifying their reach and impact within the community. Complementing these efforts, the Foundation behind "Paws for a Cause" extends financial support to partner animal rescue organizations, underscoring its commitment to fostering sustainable animal welfare initiatives. Moreover, the Foundation leverages its digital and print platforms, including the "Malibu Farmers Market" social media pages, newspapers, and magazines, to actively promote the endeavors of these rescue organizations, thereby further amplifying their visibility and support. Through its multifaceted approach, "Paws for a Cause" not only facilitates lifesaving adoptions but also cultivates a culture of compassion and advocacy for animal welfare, engendering positive change within our society.

The Greenwave

"The Greenwave Event" stands as a pivotal milestone in the community's commitment to environmental stewardship and awareness. As a free community event, it offers an immersive exploration into the intricate ecosystems of watersheds, inviting attendees to engage with over 12 organizations dedicated to safeguarding our local natural resources. Hosted at the Malibu Farmers' Market, the First Annual Greenwave Fair promises an array of educational and recreational opportunities, including interactive booths, informative displays, and engaging family activities. Participants will have the chance to learn about the vital role of watersheds in preserving beaches, creeks, aquatic and land habitats, as well as the rich cultural history intertwined with these environments. From bird walks to nature journaling sessions, the event caters to diverse interests while fostering a deeper appreciation for our natural surroundings. Moreover, attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for Audubon guided walking tours, further enriching their understanding of local ecosystems and conservation efforts. Through initiatives like "The Greenwave Event," our community demonstrates its collective commitment to protecting and preserving our precious natural resources for generations to come.
